An area man was found headfirst in a local resident's backyard duck pond.
Last Thursday afternoon in Kingston, Washington paramedics were called to the residence of Mary Savage where they were directed to a man sitting dazed and confused in a lawn chair. Tim McNab was pulled from Mrs Savage's pond by her two sons Joe and Phil.
"All I know", stated Mary "is that this guy came falling from the sky diving headfirst into my duck pond. I called my two boys to help me pull him out."
Against all odds, Mr McNab was alive and unharmed. Mrs Savage wrapped him in a blanket and gave him a cup of chicken soup to help warm him up before she called 911 to come and assess the man.
When questioned, Mr McNab told us that he was riding his bike home from work like he did every day when a bus came alongside him. "Those damn school buses! They alway pass too close.” It was really windy. The bus cut off the side wind and my bike veered to the side of the road. I flipped over the guardrail.” He recalls the fall. "There I was minding my own business when the next thing I know I’m hurtling down to the ground. I thought I was going to die."
Later in the Emergency Room doctors determined that Tim's excellent health and small stature helped to protect him from certain death. He later walked away from the ER with no apparent injuries.
