I think I am coming back from whatever virus I had a few weeks back. I got out yesterday and managed a pretty good run before work. After those weeks mostly stuck at home, I was surprised to see how the sunrise had crept ahead in the day. It is completely dark now when I go to work and I don't get to see the sun poke its head over the horizon as I finish my morning workout. I am back to wearing my flashy illuminated vest now to keep the madcap drivers from running me over. What a way to recreate.
My run went well. I was a little slower, but that will improve over time. No sense in rushing things and setting myself back a peg. I got in a nice rhythm after a warm-up and cruised for a couple of miles through the little town of Poulsbo which is not so little anymore. Some areas of downtown are getting a face lift. That's probably a good thing, but do those city planners intend to keep the little Norwegian village appeal intact. I am hopeful.
Work went well today and I think it will take me a while to fall back into my usual routine. I can keep up with the flow and my energy is good. COVID has nothing on me. I'm too ornery. We received our allotment of flu vaccines and will soon be offering them to patients. We do this until our stock is depleted and then we will stop for the year. That usually occurs in November and sometimes later in the year. Before initiating the program, staff get to walk the shot line to receive their shots. I was first and was glad to have that on board. I will have to wait a few months to take my COVID vaccine though and that's a drag. I'll get that one at the first opportunity.
I think it is interesting that the flu vacc
ine comes in different strengths for different age groups. I am eligible for the HD version The "old guy" dose. I felt unique because I am the only person in the clinic eligible for that one. I guess that makes me special.
Keep on truckin'
