Today was interesting. Again, the morning was fairly cool and overcast. It seemed like it wanted to rain, but it is hard to tell sometimes what is going on above the cloud cover.
The week is a little mixed up for me. I have been off the past week on top of the previous week which was scheduled - this was because of COVID. I decided to make my Costco run today rather than wait for tomorrow. The CDC says I am allowed to mingle in public now and that I should not be a threat to the health and well being of the rest of the world.
I was surprised to see so many people in the store. Usually it is not so crowded, but on a Friday morning the place was packed and the parking lot worse. Who'd o' thunk? I got my business done just as quick as I could and made a beeline for self checkout. I got a treat in the check out line. A little girl, maybe three, was sitting proudly in her cart with her hands straight out in front of her with the grocery receipt held firmly between them. As I passed she held up her prize and made sure I saw it. She had the widest, toothiest grin one could imagine and it seemed to span the breadth of the warehouse. She said no words, but her eyes said, " Look what I have!" I simply had to follow up with that and engaged her thusly to laud over her prize. She was very proud and the event made my day. As miserable as Costco can be, she managed to erase all the negative feelings I may have been feeling.
Sometimes we are given little gifts in our lives to help us remember that there is more good ihappy child
n the world than not.
Keep on truckin'
